Adder

Adder
An adder (me thinks) seen sunning itself on Dinas Olau. We disturbed it by walking by. Only the second one I've seen. The first was also sunning itself by the side of a track on the Schwaitlalm outside Salzburg when I was a young teenager on a Sunday walking up the Alm with my Tante Loni and Onkel Otto. I remember my aunt bending down to stroke the snake and it rearing up to strike. Luckily, the act of striking caused the snake to roll off the earth mound it occupied.

View up the Mawddach towards distant Cadair. Cloudy day but still stunning!

Bridge over the Mawddach estuary, Abermaw (Barmouth), North Wales! Lovely walk over the bridge following the Mawddach Trail.
